Therapeutic Approach

I am a relational therapist that considers the impact of gender, race, sexual orientation, ableism and the context of culture and society on our challenges. As a trauma-informed practitioner, I use a multi-faceted approach of research based modalities that support and empower trauma recovery such as Attachment Theory, Emotion Focused Therapy, Brainspotting, parts work, mindfulness and somatic concepts. I also integrate additional learnings and training in:

  • Basics of CBT: Essentials I - Beck Institute

  • Brainspotting Phase 1 & 2

  • Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy Externship (EFCT) - International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy

  • Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) - International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy

  • Fostering Post-Traumatic Growth - National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioural Medicine

  • Basic Principles of Somatic Experiencing - Somatic Experiencing International

  • Healing Racial Trauma with ACT: One Cultures Approach - Canadian Psychological Association

  • Healing the Fragmented Selves of Trauma Survivors: Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST) - Janina Fisher
